upon arriving in paris our gracious hosts fixed a plethera of lentils, eggs, and salads galor. always with the dressing mixed in a jar of dijon, balsamic, and crushed pepper set on the table.
the couple hosting us was sheila from spain-living in paris and her girlfriend and mikel's previous roommate: cler the beautifully classic parisian. they roomed with pierre, a model, goofy frenchman as you can imagine by the name, and mati, korean, raised in paris. you can imagine the amalgam of flavors that are found in the household.

Arriving at the farm, completely famished after a day on trains, we were greeted with duck confit from the farm with a bean cassoulet and (to lu's delite) a neighbor's wine made from the grape gros manseng. (lu's favorite white wine is the german gewurztraminer, made from the same grape)
no photos, we were too famished
